SACA (South Asian Christian Alliance Conference) - July 21st

21 July, 2007 (09:15) | Ben Ki Batein

This Saturday I attended the day long SACA Conference. It was a great experience, I was pleasantly surprised and have to say that it was indeed a commendable effort. There were lots of people from the community, I would say close to 800, although my counting isn’t very good.
Bro David Manuel from the South Abbotsford Church in British Columbia was the main speaker. Great message and a great man of God. I was very interested to see him since my Father mentioned that he had worked with him. After the meeting I introduced myself to him and when I told him about my father he was so happy and embraced me. He told me that he was present at the very first conference of ‘Hindi Evangelical Fellowship’in Jhansi which my father started. He told me he was there with my father and Bro Anand Chaudhary, both of whom are now with the Lord. It was really neat to connect to my father through pastor David Manuel.
Balbbir Singh was the main singer - he is Punjabi singer from India, good music, unfortunately, I did not have any cash on me to buy the CD’s. I wasn’t very well prepared for this. I am sure I will get a hand on his CD’s and when I do you will see them here as well. I do not undertand Punjabi but I can tell when the music is good.
Then to top it all there was lunch as well!! Unbeleivable!! Congratulations to Bro Barnabas Peters and Bro Joseph Singh for organising the event. I pray that the focus will continue to be on the the saving grace of Jesus and that many from our community will come to experience salvation in their lives. I have some photographs that may give you an idea of what it was like - sorry couldn’t take many because my camera ran out of juice ( I told you I wasn’t very well prepared!!).
